           he needed to wake up.
but how can he wake up when this
                                                     is reality? ]

❝Stiles, you just woke up. The fact that you think this is a dream is enough sign that you need to go home.❞

[ she needed to coax him into a calmer state, one where his paranoia isn’t high. with one hand rubbing his back and the other having a grip on his arm, she’s hoping she’s sending him enough comfort. ]

❝You have to go home, Stiles. The school is not the place for you at the moment. You’ve been acting strange, teachers are noticing it too. Just let me take you home.❞

[ his eyes were filled with fear, one that she probably knows too well. ]

              ❝I’ll stay with you.❞

[ he wished it were that simple
that once he woke up, he was sure he was awake,
that dreams were only one level
but he didn’t live in such an easy time.
When he woke up, he was usually still dreaming, piling layers of dreams nightmares on top of eachother. ]

❝Lately, I’ve been waking up, well —— thinking I’m waking up, and I'm still dreaming.❞
[ a sense of panic creeps into his voice, like poison into his bloodstream
——– no, he wouldn’t let himself fall into that again. ]
❝And I just keep waking up into another level of hell, Lydia.
So yeah, I feel like I still need to wake up.❞

[ His hand met with hers rested on his arm, an anchor
he didn’t know if this was real,
but at least he was starting to calm down.

If this were a nightmare, he’d probably be screaming by now, so this is a good sign. ]

❝Fine, I’ll go. But only if you stay with me.
I don’t want to be left alone right now, not when I don’t know what’s real.

[ He was falling apart at the seams, busting out of his casing.
Lydia was the only one he could go to.
Scott and Allison had their own sanities to grip onto, but Lydia —-
Lydia understood what it was like to go crazy. ]
