[ All the words he released were true, as much as she was ashamed to admit it. Her reputation got to her head, became a child that she focused too much on nurturing.
But it also dawned to her, that those who surrounded her while she was at the top of the ladder never really cared much. That changed everything. ]
❝But at least now we’re past the ignoring phase?❞
[ Stupid drink. Already making her feel a little woozy. Can’t even think right or form coherent sentences. ]

[He loved her since the third grade. He was there the whole time. Everyone else just tried to get in her pants or in her social group, all he’d wanted was to get into her heart.]

I don’t know what it was, maybe they called you a nerd or said something about your hair. I told them to shut their mouths, all of them. I told them my dad was a cop and that I would have them arrested. I knew even back then that I’d do anything for you. Anything. But then you figured out that if you do your hair all pretty and act like you don’t know anything people will like you. And then you got popular.❞
[He couldn’t believe what he was saying, but he was feeling vulnerable and open and way too easy with his feelings.]
